Eduard Ludendorff (1790—1824)

Eduard Ludendorff was a wholesaler and merchant in Gothenburg. He opened the first savings bank in Sweden on 28 October 1820, at his home on Västra Hamngatan. The purpose of the bank was to make it possible for the many poor people in the city to save money. Ludendorff died less than three years later, at the age of just 34.
