The Swedish Companies Act and freedom of trade

It cost a lot of money to build factories. A new law was introduced in 1848 – the Swedish Companies Act – to encourage more people to invest. This said that owners were not personally liable for the losses of a limited company. From 1864 onwards, anybody could start and run a business.
