10 kroner, Oscar II, 1902

When Sweden and Denmark joined the Scandinavian Monetary Union in 1873, they introduced the so-called gold standard, where 1 kilo of gold was equal to 2480 kroner. Norway introduced the gold standard in 1874 and joined the monetary union the following year. The Norwegian 10-krona gold coin is inscribed with 10 kroner and the text "248 Stk. 1 Kil. f. G", which means that 248 10-krona coins have been struck from 1 kilo of fine gold.
