Medal commemorating signing of the peace of Lund on September 26, 1679.

The 1679 Peace of Lund between Sweden and Denmark established the national borders from 1658 onwards, leaving Sweden with Skåne, Halland and Blekinge.

The obverse of the medal shows a portrait of King Karl XI of Sweden. On the reverse, a hand from heaven is placing a palm branch and a laurel wreath on a royal crown standing on an altar. There are broken weapons and banners around the altar, as well as cannons. The inscription in Latin means: “From heaven comes she who gives peace, Victorious perseverance.”
