2 öre, Köpenhamn, Christian IX av Danmark, 1889

The lowest denominations in Denmark were struck in bronze and all had the same motif, the king's monogram ‘C IX’ (Christian IX) and the coin's denomination surrounded by a dolphin, a symbol of seafaring, and an ear of barley, a symbol of agriculture. The last 2-øre coins were struck in 1972.
