25 öre, Köpenhamn, Christian IX av Danmark, 1904

The highest øre coin in Denmark was 25 øre and not 50 øre as in Sweden and Norway. It was not until 1989 that Denmark got 50 øre coins. The 25 øre coins were silver and, like the higher denominations, had the king's portrait on the obverse (front). But on the reverse (back) there is no coat of arms, but a dolphin, a symbol of seafaring, and a ear of barley, a symbol of agriculture, around the denomination.
