1 krona, Kongsberg, Oscar II, 1885

The Norwegian single crown depicts King Oscar II of Norway and Sweden on the obverse (front) and the Norwegian coat of arms on the reverse (back). The coin engraver was Lea Ahlborn, who was the Swedish Mint's coin and medal artist and who is often referred to as Sweden's first female government employee. The minting of the Norwegian coins was carried out at the Norwegian Mint in Kongsberg.
