100 kronor, Tumba, Sveriges riksbank, 2015

In 2015/2016, new banknotes and coins were issued in Sweden with the aim of improving security and the environment. The environmental impact of the production and handling of the new banknotes and coins is lower than that of the old ones. Security is high and counterfeiting is low. Perhaps the most important new security feature on the four highest denominations is the vertical security band with three windows. The windows feature images that move and switch motifs between ‘KR’ and a royal crown when you wiggle the banknote, easy to check and so far impossible to counterfeit.

The theme of the motifs on the banknote series is cultural personalities and nature/environmental motifs. The front of the banknote features a portrait of the film star Greta Garbo, while the back shows her hometown of Stockholm.
