2 daler silvermynt, Avesta, Karl XII, 1713
This plate coin was made in Avesta using copper from the Bäsinge copper mine in southern Dalarna. It was stamped with a centre stamp with a crowned B between two roses to show that the copper came from the Bäsinge mine. The crown over the B probably refers to the fact that the coin was minted with royal privilege.
From 1715 onwards, it is no longer possible to tell that the copper comes from Bäsinge, as the plate coins instead bear the Avesta centre stamp with the crossed Dalecarlian arrows.
