King Adolf Fredrik's award medal for new cultivation

To encourage the cultivation of previously unused land as well as agricultural improvements, medals began to be awarded in 1765. They were given to individuals who had made contributions in these areas.

On the front of the medal, a man is ploughing a field next to fences and a pasture.

At the bottom is the inscription ‘TILLED SOIL’.

On the reverse is the King's portrait. The engraver was Carl Johan Wikman.
