5 öre, Stockholm, Oscar II, 1875
The 5-öre was the highest denomination in bronze. All bronze coins have the monogram of King Oscar II on the obverse (front) and the denomination on the reverse (back) surrounded by Sweden's small coat of arms, the three crowns.
Bronze coins, like silver coins, were credit money, as their face value was higher than the metal value. The value of the bronze coins was guaranteed by the member countries of the Scandinavian Monetary Union.
