Clay pipe, England, London, 1680–1710

The clay pipe on display is an English pipe made in London sometime between 1680 and 1710. European production of clay pipes began in England in the 1570s. Pipes were mainly imported to Sweden from England and the Netherlands. Only the head of this pipe has been preserved, while the stem has broken and come adrift.
