1/192 taler, Pommern-Stettin, Karl X Gustav, 1655
There were two coinage standards in the Duchy of Pomerania, the Lübeck and the Mark. This was because of the duchy’s trade contacts with Lübeck and Hamburg and the Margraviate of Brandenburg.
The coin you see here was struck at the Lübeck mint and is the lowest denomination, 1 witten, which was 1/192 of the main coin, the riksdaler.
