1 daler silvermynt, Stockholm, Karl XII, 1716

This coin, which bears the inscription Publica Fide, meaning trust of the public, is what is known as an emergency coin. This was the second emergency coin to be issued.

The obverse (front) depicts a woman carrying a sceptre and a shield bearing three crowns. The motif is based on a 17th-century British medal and later became the prototype for Mother Svea, a fictional character commonly used as a symbol of Sweden.

The coin bearing the inscription Publica Fide weighs twice as much as the first emergency coin with a crown on it.
