This is a half-örtug, or fyrk, from the short reign of Danish Union King Hans as King of Sweden (1497–1501). On one side of the coin, we see a crown bearing the inscription MONETA STOCHO (= Coin of Stockholm). The other side of the coin bears the coat of arms of the House of Oldenburg, to which Hans belonged, along with an inscription clarifying his position as King of Sweden by the grace of God. In other words, this was a clear indication of who was in charge of the country at that time.
