Coin production underlay, lead

This lead base was used to strike bracteate coins during the reign of Valdemar Birgersson. You can recognise Valdemar's coin type with a lily crown, which was minted according to the Svealand weight. Among the finds from the excavations in Örebro, there are 12 pieces of lead with an equal number of lily crown impressions. Some have four beads on the crown ring and others five, which means that at least two different variants of this coin type were minted in Örebro.
