50 öre, Stockholm, Gustaf VI Adolf, 1968

This 50-öre coin is of the new type that began to be issued in 1962. In that year, the former silver coin became a copper-nickel coin with a new appearance. On the obverse (front), the crown was replaced by the crowned monogram of Gustav VI Adolf, G VI A, surrounded by the year of minting. The reverse design was more similar, with the denomination 50 and the inscription SVERIGE, but with the addition of St Erik's head and the letter U, indicating that the coin was struck in Stockholm and that Benkt Ulvfot was the mintmaster, i.e. the head of the mint.
