1 skilling banco, Stockholm, Oscar I, 1849

This skilling coin from 1849 is one of the last coins minted at the Royal Mint when it was located in Gamla Stan, Stockholm. The Mint had been in Gamla Stan since the 1670s and now it was moving to Kungsholmen. The year after this coin was struck, in 1850, coins began to be minted in the Royal Mint's new premises. Sweden's coins were then minted there until 1973, when the mint moved to Eskilstuna.
