1 riksdaler specie, Stockholm, Oscar I, 1853

Riksdaler specie coins were minted between 1831 and 1855. Since the coin reform of King Gustav III in 1776/1777, the riksdaler was divided into 48 skillings. Two years after this riksdaler was issued, in 1855, the riksdaler count was changed. Instead of riksdaler specie, Sweden got riksdaler riksmynt. At the same time, the skilling count was cancelled and the öre coins returned. 100 öre became equal to 1 riksdaler riksmynt.
