1 riksdaler riksmynt, 1883
During the 19th century, the use of tokens increased significantly. Maritime traffic was one of the industries where tokens began to be widely used. This paper token indicating a value of 1 riksdaler riksmynt was used on Wermdö, one of the many steamships (also called steam sloops) that travelled the waters of Stockholm.
Steam sloops began to replace the earlier rowing boats in the 1850s and saw a sharp increase in the 1860s.
