1/6 riksdaler, Stockholm, Gustav III, 1783

Gustav III's riksdaler coins from 1776 onwards all have, down to 1/6-riksdaler, the king's portrait on the obverse (front) and the small coat of arms on the reverse (back). Under the coat of arms we can read the initials of mintmaster (the person who supervised the work in the mint) Olof Lidijn, ‘OL’. He was mintmaster at the Royal Mint between 1773 and 1819, when the mint was located in the Vulcanus neighbourhood in the Old Town in Stockholm, near the Royal Palace.
