20 kronor, Kongsberg, Oscar II, 1877

The first Norwegian gold coin to be struck after Norway's entry into the Scandinavian Monetary Union in 1875 was the 20-kronor coin. On the obverse (front) we see the portrait of the King of Norway and Sweden, the Union King Oscar II, and on the reverse (back) the Norwegian coat of arms. The 20-krone coin was issued for eight years between 1876 and 1910. In the last year it was issued by Norway's King Haakon VII.
